The Atlantic coast of Portugal is one of my favourite places for Summer. In the morning and afternoon, however, we need something to cover our shoulders, protection from the sea breeze.
Something light and cosy like Mares.
Mares is an asymmetric shawl, knit in soft silk. Easy to style, gives you a touch of warmth and comfort.
A great project to knit and wear by the seaside.
Yarn: Tussah Tweed by BC Garn, colour 15, 3 hanks (750 m / 819 yds)
Size: 225 cm x 110 cm (88,6” x 43,3”)
Needles: 5 mm / US 8 (or other suitable to obtain gauge or the right texture for you)
Gauge: 22 rows and 18 sts = 10 cm x 10 cm / 4” x 4” (in pattern, after blocking)
Notions: Stitch markers, tapestry needle, blocking wires and pins
