The Book of Clarence Soap2day

Clarence (LaKeith Stanfield) and his companion, Elijah (RJ Cyler), owe money to Jedediah the Terrible (Eric Kofi Abrefa), but do not have it. Clarence has emotions for Jedediah's sister Varinia (Anna Diop), complicating things even more. If he does not return Jedidiah within 30 days, he will not be permitted to court Varinia and will be crucified. The screenplay is based on well-known Hollywood epics set in ancient times, and it tells the narrative of a down-on-his-luck Jerusalem man who starts out hoping to profit from the Messiah's rise, but surprisingly learns about religion and takes his own way.
