Hoc Corpus (2024)
For SATB Choir with Divisi (3')
Description:
Striking sonorities. Sacred remembrance.
Hoc Corpus sets the words of institution from 1 Corinthians with a sense of awe, mystery, and intensity. Scored for SATB choir with divisi, this work is both compelling and reverent, designed for strong ensembles seeking something emotionally and musically rich. The music juxtaposes grounded, resonant sonorities with shimmering textures, using dynamic contrast and shifting meter to heighten the sense of sacred drama.
Ideal for Maundy Thursday, Corpus Christi, or any Eucharistic liturgy, Hoc Corpus challenges choirs in the best way—offering moments of stillness, grandeur, and deep spiritual presence.

Hoc corpus,
quod pro vobis tradétur:
hic calix novi testaménti
est in meo sanguine,
dicit Dóminus:
hoc fácite,
quotiescúmque súmitis,
in meam commemoratiónem.
Translation:
“This is my body which is given up for you; this is the cup of the new covenant in my blood”, says
the Lord. “Each time that you partake thereof, do it in memory of me.”
