Frequently Asked Questions
1. Who are these consultations for?
These groups are ideal for EMDR-trained therapists who are:
• Working toward EMDRIA certification
• Wanting support with complex cases
• Looking to grow in confidence using the 8-phase protocol
• Interested in integrating Christian faith into clinical work (for faith-based groups)
2. Do these hours count toward EMDRIA certification?
Yes! I am a full consultant as of August 2025 and am able to work with you for all 20 hours.
3. How many consultation hours do I need for certification?
EMDRIA requires 20 consultation hours:
• 10 can be group hours
• 10 must be individual
4. How many people are in each group?
Groups are typically limited to 4–8 participants, allowing time for each member to share a case, ask questions, and receive feedback.
5. What kinds of cases can I bring?
You’re welcome to bring any client cases where you’ve used (or want to use) EMDR. We often discuss:
• Target selection and floatbacks
• Blocked processing
• Complex trauma
• Dissociation
• Faith-based concerns (if in a Christian group)
6. Can I just listen in if I don’t have a case to share?
Yes, you’re welcome to attend and learn from others even if you don’t have a case that week. Many clinicians find it helpful to hear how others are applying the protocol. However, to count towards certification, you will need to present cases to show case your fidelity to the 8-phase protocol.
7. Are there faith-based and non-faith-based groups available?
Yes. Some groups are faith-integrated and incorporate Christian values, language, and spiritual themes. Others are general clinical groups focused on case consultation and EMDR protocol fidelity. Be sure to register for the group that best fits your needs.
8. Are sessions recorded?
No, to protect client confidentiality and create a safe, open environment, group sessions are not recorded.
9. Do I get CEUs for attending?
These are consultation hours, not CEU workshops. However, clinicians who complete 15 or more, paid consultation hours with me will receive discounts or free access to future EMDR CEU courses I offer.
10. What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
