About this pattern:
Everyone loves those beautiful hand-dyed skeins of yarn, but what to knit with them? Lace shawls are beautiful and fun to knit, but the high-contrast colors of those beautiful yarns obscure the details and all your hard work goes unnoticed. Plain garter stitch or stockinette shawls are great, but boring to knit.

That’s why I designed this narrow crescent shawl. It has large garter stitch sections to make the shawl take shape quickly as well as simple eyelet and stockinette sections to keep your interest. Because the eyelets go across the width of the crescent they don’t get buried under the weight of the high-contrast colorways.

This shawl is perfect for watching TV, waiting in doctor’s offices, or anywhere you need a simple-to-knit project for almost mindless knitting. It’s customizable too! If you have more yarn, feel free to add more sections. If you want a narrower shawl, use fewer sections. It’s up to you.

Skills needed:
Knitting, purling, yarn overs, knitting several stitches into one yarn over from the previous row, knitting two stitches together, knitting two stitches together through the back loop, knitting in the front and back of a stitch.
