This Pre-K Fine Motor Name Art Lesson turns each student's own name into a personal artwork. Young learners practice name recognition, early writing, line tracing, cutting, gluing, dot painting and mark making while they create.

Students learn that their name is special because it belongs to them, that names are made of letters, and that letters are made with lines and shapes. As they trace, cut, glue, dot, paint, write and decorate, they build the small-muscle control they need for drawing, writing and independent classroom tasks. It suits preschool and Pre-K teachers, Kindergarten readiness, homeschool families and art centers.

WHAT STUDENTS LEARN

Students practice tracing lines, writing their name, cutting, ripping and gluing paper, dot painting with a cotton swab, making dots with markers, peeling and placing stickers, using finger paint dots, and holding art tools carefully. These activities strengthen their hands, build hand-eye coordination and support early writing and drawing.

The slideshow introduces the lesson in simple, Pre-K friendly language, and the step-by-step slides show the artwork one step at a time. It fits back-to-school name activities, All About Me units, cutting and gluing practice, sub plans and bulletin board displays.
