Circles of Connection – Facilitators Guide + Reflection Worksheet
Build group connection, spark meaningful conversation, and give participants a visual reminder of shared experiences with this creative, hands-on activity.
Perfect for:
- Mental health groups
- Substance use recovery
- School counseling
- Support groups
- Team-building sessions
How it Works:
Each participant decorates a cardstock circle based on your chosen prompt (e.g., recovery journey, coping skills, personal strengths, future goals). One person starts by sharing their circle and its meaning. Another participant says “I can relate”, explains their connection, and shares their own circle. Circles are tied together in the order shared, creating a visual “chain of connection.”
The activity wraps up with a guided reflection worksheet to help participants process the experience, explore insights, and deepen group connection.
You’ll Receive:
- Facilitator Notes – Step-by-step instructions, setup tips, and variations for different group types
- Printable Reflection Worksheet – Thought-provoking questions to guide post-activity discussion
