KIA dispatched five players to Australia's ABL Canberra Cavaliers
KIA Tigers announced that they will send a team to Canberra Cavally of the Australian professional baseball league ABL.
KIA will send a total of five players to Canberra Cavaliers, including pitchers Kwak Do-kyu, Kim Ki-hoon, Kim Hyun-soo, Hong Won-bin and infielder Park Min.
As Geelong Korea's dispatch to ABL failed from this year, the club sought an alternative, and in September, Shim Jae-hak, head of the team, met with the owner of Canberra Cavalli in person and agreed to dispatch the team.
Shim Jae-hak, general manager, said, "We decided to dispatch this time to give players who need practical experience due to military service and players who lack experience in the first division a chance to practice," adding, "We hope our players will improve their skills against high-quality foreign players."
In the future, the club plans to continue to seek various ways to foster players, such as dispatching a team to the ABL. 스포츠토토
Meanwhile, the squad is scheduled to play from the opening game of the ABL on November 17, and will return after a total of 40 games until January 21 next year, when the season ends.
