Named for a pioneering (and stylish) aviatrix, Dutrieu’s bold lines make the most of hand-painted sock yarn. While the sideways garter-stitch construction is easy and fun to work, short rows plus a widening brim result in unpredictable colour changes that add a note of adventure to this simple cloche.

The pattern is written for two sizes and includes tutorials for the provisional cast-on and garter stitch grafting.

very cute hat

quite a lot of knitting involved with a 4ply wool. Variations in the colour grading led to a very warm and attractive hat.
