Un-g-rotting.

We all have a story; some of us just choose (what and when) to share it.

This is a declaration and a celebration of the favours of my Lord.

Un-g-rotting is a mosaic of fragmented pieces, moving parts, with a rich colour spectrum of the human experience.

What began as a raw offloading of my heavy heart gradually evolved into a compilation of personal reflections on my journey so far.

It is poetry meeting prose. Moving between duʿas, stream of consciousness, personal letters and reminders to myself (and the reader), this multi-textured book captures the tension between stagnation and movement, despair and hope, falling apart and slowly coming back together.

At its core, Un-g-rotting follows the story of a tired soul unlearning and learning, and trying to make sense of her past and process her present reality as she’s desperately holding on to faith and hope within the cave she currently finds herself in.

This is not a self-exhibition, but rather a record of where I have been, where I am currently, and where I pray to reach.

My hope is that it serves as a gentle companion and reminder for those feeling tired, stuck, still waiting, hurting, broken and on their healing journey. May it resonate with your hearts and benefit you immensely. Ameen.
