This piece, rendered entirely in colored pencil, was inspired by the fleeting moment I witnessed a snow owl landing gracefully on a branch near my home in Idaho. I layered the colors with care allowing them to build slowly, and then softened the tones with paint thinner to capture the quiet stillness and delicate beauty of that winter scene.
