The idea behind the All Squared Away patterns is to take the traditional granny square pattern and make it sing! These patterns are designed to use squares of different sizes, which makes them ideal for using up scraps; while the joining method used cuts down on the number of ends you need to weave in.Though it uses granny squares, this is not a beginner pattern. It’s all about the joining method.
Finished size is approximately 13.3 times bigger than your 3-round square. Sample measures 39” square.
This pattern uses the continuous joining method described in this tutorial: https://www.ravelry.com/discuss/fantasticmio/4069169/1-25
or this video tutorial: https://youtu.be/LO40rxGSxpM
A written pattern for a granny square is included, but you can use any traditional granny square pattern you are comfortable with.
This pattern includes both right- and left-handed joining schematics.
This was designed with using up scraps in mind. Gauge isn’t critical, as granny squares are quite forgiving.
Yarn needed for the join is estimated at 550 yards.
