A cropped sweater covered in pink confetti (coriandoli in Italian) that can be tied in different ways. Super fun to make and wear!

Construction

Coriandoli is worked in two pieces, each knitted sideways from the wrist to center back, where they are joined with a 3-needle BO on the RS.

Each sleeve is worked in the round, then stitches are added for the body that is worked flat, back and forth from back to front and viceversa. There is a bit of shoulder shaping (with charts for helping you mantaining the pattern throughout the increases), then the Front and the Back are worked separately. The Front is shaped with decreases to form a triangle that can be easily tied. The Back is worked straight to the center back where is joined to the other half using a 3 needle BO using the CC only.

Sizes

XS (S, M, L) /XL, 2XL, 3XL/XL)

To Fit Bust: 80 (90, 100, 110) /120, 130, 140/60) cm/ 32 (36, 40, 44) /48, 52, 56/4)”.

Back width:

45 (50.5, 55.5, 60) /65, 70.5, 75.5/5) cm.

18 (20.25, 22.25, 24) /26, 28.25, 30.25/4)”.

Note: The finished circumference is immaterial in this pattern because the fronts are very long to be tied together. That’s why the Back width is given here instead.

Ease suggestions: approx 5-0 cm/2-0” positive ease.

Yarn

MC: Rowan Kidsilk Haze (70% Mohair, 30% Silk; 210m229yds/25 g), col. Pearl 590;

650 (700, 750, 800)/900, 1000, 1100/300) m/ 711 (765.5, 820, 875) /984, 1094, 1203/421.5)

CC: La Bien Aimée Felix (75% Falkland Merino, 25% Corriedale; 650m 710yds/100g), col. Kool;

650 (700, 750, 800)/900, 1000, 1100/300) m/ 711 (765.5, 820, 875) /984, 1094, 1203/421.5).

Note on yarn substitution: Use two laceweight yarns, a mohair one for MC and a plain lace for CC. Choose two solid or tonal colors with a good contrast between them. In my opinion, this design works at its best if MC is lighter than CC.
