This Cat-O’-Lantern Halloween Art Project combines cats and glowing jack-o’-lanterns in one seasonal artwork for grades 3 to 8. Students use soft pastel and oil pastel techniques to blend colors, layer textures and add depth.

Clear step-by-step visuals, a detailed lesson plan and a finished example support even reluctant artists. Students can make a spooky black cat, a mischievous kitten or a silly pumpkin friend, and the finished pieces brighten a Halloween display or homeschool portfolio.
