Nils Lindbergs best-known compositions are perhaps the melodies "As you are" and "Shall I compare thee". "As you are" is taken from the music for the television series Farlig kurs (1965) and later received a text written by Red Mitchell. "Shall I compare thee" is a setting of Sonnet 18 by William Shakespeare and is included in the suite O Mistress Mine (1988), in which Lindberg set several English-language poems from the same era to music.
