Varietti Cosmetic Pouch PDF Sewing Pattern (3 Sizes)

Varietti is a cosmetic bag with a variety of different options for both the exterior and interior finish. These include a slip pocket, a zip pocket, a elasticated cargo style pocket, and a simple plain panel. Varietti comes in three sizes - Varietti Mini (approx. 4” (10cm) tall by 8” (20cm) wide), Varietti Midi (approx. 5” (12.5cm) tall by 9” (22.5cm) wide) and Varietti Maxi (approx. 6” (15cm) tall by 12” (30cm) wide), which means you can individualise to suit your needs! This project has a gusset and binding on the interior seams, and requires one zipper and pull for the main closure, plus an optional additional zipper/pull if using the zip pocket exterior panel option.

The Varietti Midi and Maxi can be made with a variety of bases, including woven cotton, canvas and vinyl. For Varietti Mini, I recommend canvas or woven cotton as some stiffer vinyl can be tricky on the tighter corners. I recommend interfacing all woven and canvas exterior pieces in full using a medium weight woven interfacing and using a fusible foam or fleece on fabric exterior pieces for added structure and stability.
