“Hallo, Rabbit,” he said, “is that you?”
“Let’s pretend it isn’t,” said Rabbit, “and see what happens.”
-- A. A. Milne
This is a pattern for a pair of mittens & muffatees worked from the bottom up and in the round, using the stranded colourwork technique.
There are charts for Left and Right mittens & muffatees. Finished size is determined by the needle size. In addition, there are 2 Rabbit styles to choose from - A & B. Since there are longer floats over the rabbit section, you may want to use the Ladder-back/Invisible Jacquard technique shown (included).
Mitten Lining: If you would like to work a lining, working your mittens a size larger than your hand and then working the lining a size smaller usually works for most people. You may pick up sts from the inside of the mitten (after ribbing) and work the chart in a single colour or work lining separately and sew in. For my sample, I used BFL/Masham and worked the lining separately from the mitten and increased the length of the rib and decreased the top every other round instead of every round.
Yarn kits available from Gathered Sheep Yarns.
