Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) is a counseling method designed to help the "concerned significant others (CSO's)" of people with substance use disorders, even those who are refusing treatment. CRAFT works with the family, creating lasting systemic change without ultimatums or detachment. CRAFT is an effective alternative to traditional "interventions", with two decades of peer-reviewed research behind it. CRAFT can be integrated into your existing therapy practice or family treatment program.
These course is for social workers, therapists, substance use disorder professionals, peer support workers, SUD treatment program managers, and other helping professionals who want to assist families through substance use related crisis. You do not need to be a family therapist or a SUD expert to learn CRAFT.
This is the full basic CRAFT training, totaling 13 hours of continuing education for professionals. These training workshops are kept small so that you can benefit from an interactive and engaging learning environment.
Attendees will learn all of the CRAFT procedures to use in counseling families impacted by substance use.
The CRAFT approach will be taught through a combination of informative lecture, illustrative demonstrations and useful practice exercises - you won't be bored!
