Dez Scott, a woman in her sixties fed up with post-menopausal weight gain, has written an easy-to-follow guide to losing weight and inches. Fed up with following diets that are too restrictive, difficult to follow or full of hard-to-find ingredients, Dez has created a diet which includes the foods and drinks you love so that you can still enjoy eating, without guilt or shame, and lose those pesky inches which may have crept after the menopause, and which can be notoriously difficult to shift.

Dez put herself on the diet in early September 2022 and by November she’d lost inches from her waist hips, whilst still socialising and eating with her family. Dez says “I want to share my tips and tricks for losing inches with other over 60 women like myself who are constantly told you can’t have this or that in order to lose weight. It is harder to lose weight as we age, but it can be done safely and enjoyably with my easy inch loss guide”.

So many diet books come across as very dry and technical, but reading Dez’s book is like talking to a girlfriend! The “diet” Dez had developed is based on combining popular eating plans to find the “sweet spot” and honestly, it just makes sense! Very easy read, and even though I might not do her plan exactly as she does, I have picked up some great tips that I am eager to implement into my life. Great book! Tina M

Like the honesty and down to earth approach. Information is based on robust research but not overwhelming. The approach makes sense with relevant examples. I can see myself following the advice especially because is not restrictive and it could fit into my lifestyle without making too many changes. I can also see it as long term rather than a quick fix. Dez writes in a comprehensive and easily understandable style. Her book is beautifully written, with much research having been carried out. Her personal stories are poignant and revealing but immensely helpful in pinpointing your own issues with food. It isn’t scientific, and does not preach, far from it. Dez Scott, 68, is a blogger and content creator still in full-time employment. This is her third book. Her first, Fabulous Functions for the Faint-Hearted, was published under her maiden name in 2016. Her second, as yet un-published, is a detective novel entitled The Network. She is married with two children.

Dez currently has 1.04K subscribers on YouTube and has had over 71K views to date.  She has over 850 followers on Instagram and creates videos on makeup, skincare, fashion, weight loss and lifestyle.

I liked this very much. I purchased it, not for weight loss, but to get some new healthy ideas. I liked the meal plan ideas,and will try some of the recipes.

Practical Tips!

I don't know any women, especially over the age of 50 who haven't tried to shed a few pounds and found that things that used to work, just don't work anymore. Reading "Losing Weight After Menopause- A Simple How-To Guide" is like talking to one of your girlfriends about what has worked for them. I love how Dez has created a plan for herself, incorporating other well known "diets". That just makes sense to me. Very easy, fun read and you will definitely come away with some tips to incorporate into your own life.
