So What - Joe Pass

"So What"... man! This is the fastest version I've ever heard played by Joe Pass! This lightning-speed rendition includes a transcription of not just the solo but Joe's comping as well. You can find this performance on Les McCann's album "In Time", recorded in 1962 and released under the Pacific Jazz label.

This proves that Joe was not only a virtuoso as a solo jazz guitarist, as he is probably most known, but also highly capable of delivering great lines at the fastest tempos. Although it's a small solo, it offers some interesting ideas on what to play over minor seven chords.
