Thoughts of Peace And Not of Evil
Jeremiah 29:11 has long been one of the most quoted and cherished promises in the Bible. Yet, for me, this verse is far more than familiar words on a page — it became a lifeline in seasons when my heart was heavy, my path was hidden, and my future seemed uncertain.
There were times in my journey when I felt like an exile in my own story. Times when prayers seemed unanswered, doors closed in succession, and the vision of what I thought life should be grew dim. In those moments, I grappled with discouragement, confusion, and even the silent question: “Lord, do You still have good thoughts toward me?”
It was in such dark chapters that this verse became light. The realization that God’s thoughts toward me — toward all His children — are thoughts of peace and not of evil, thoughts to give us a hope and a future, anchored my soul. His plans had not been derailed. His purpose was still intact. His peace was still available, even in the waiting.
