Just Ice, Patrice - SOLD

£60.00

Just Ice - Oil Patel on found woodblock, sealed with high gloss varnish - has fixings on the back for wall hanging - size 40cm X 50 cm

This piece is an expressive oil pastel collage of several different moments in time that I was a part of. Firdtly, Patrice! Patrice is 69 year old French punk who lives in the warehouses with us here in north London. He is the most rock n roll person I've ever met. It runs through his veins like blood; it's his lifeforce. In his DNA.... He plays in 2 bands - Just Patrice and Friends, and Raw Fun.

This picture captures him screaming in to his original 1960s squaretop microphon, chequered guitarstrap across his shoulder, eyes closed and immersed in the moment. In the original photograph, I'm by his side playing the tambourine! The two of us were performing at a Save The Warehouses event in Omega Works, summer 2023 on a makeshift stage.

The second part of this picture features Orla serving a tray of green ice cubes during a music jam at 13 Overbury Road. They were wearing dramatic Bowie style makeup and a huge feather boa and had just finished telling me about how they made the dress worn by the main character in one of the performances currently running at the Royal Opera House!

The red snake on the yellow sun in the top left of the picture is taken from a mural I painted on Fountayne Road to welcome the Summer Solstace - I can't remember exactly what year it was, but I think aroun 2019.

This collage represents the raw fun and chaos of the spaces we inhabit, and the diverse range of people and events that come together here.
