Tucking the Tails

On the 9th of August, 1994, I warped a loom.

On the 12th, I picked up a strand of wool, and with a minuscule maneuver that tapestry weavers have been making for millennia, nestled that strand into the open shed—all the way to the tippy end. I closed the shed, tapped that bit of weft into place, and wove back. The tippy end disappeared. Everything changed.

Decades on, I’m delighted to be able to share what I’ve learned since that moment, and hope that one, some or several of the techniques described in this 20 page guide will be as useful—even exhilarating—to you as they still are to me.
