About This Book

The Key of Knowledge Held by Jesus

The Key of Knowledge held by Jesus

In This Volume (Six) we discover what it means that Jesus holds the Key of Knowledge.

In Volume Five, we found that ‘According to the Prophets and Jesus There are Few… not many that go to Heaven.’

Why is it that only few will find their way into Heaven? Could it have something to do with the fact that the Key of Knowledge was taken away by the Scribes and Pharisees?

What did Jesus have to say about the Pharisees?

He said,

Be careful

… Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees which is hypocrisy

Then understood they how that he bade them

not beware of the leaven of bread,

but of the doctrine of the Pharisees

and of the Sadducees.

Matthew 16:11-12

Jesus warned us NOT to listen to Pharisees. Do not pay attention to them, Jesus said. They are phony, insincere and deceitful.

Who are we listening to and obeying? Is it Jesus and His Father or are we listening to and following the doctrine of a Pharisee?

Are we repeating the words of a Pharisee as if it were gospel?

If we are… Why?

Jesus tells us not to.

He says, don’t trust Pharisees.

They’re insincere and will lead us astray.

Further down I’ll be sharing eight woes from the Bible directed at the Pharisees (religious leaders), but first a little intro.

Do what Moses said

Jesus said, don’t do as the Pharisees but do as Moses says.

Practice and observe what Moses tells you

Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to His disciples:

“The scribes and Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat.

So practice and observe everything he (Moses) tells you

But do not do what they (the Pharisees) do,

for they do not practice what they preach.…

(Matthew 23:1-4)

What did Moses say?

He told us many times over to follow God’s Commandments.

Obey

Observe and hear all these words

which I command you,

that it may go well with you and

with your children after you forever,

when you do that which is good and right

 in Yahweh your God’s eyes.

(Deuteronomy 12:28 WEB)

And Moses also told us not to add or take away from God’s Holy Word so that we will keep His Commandments.

Do not add nor subtract

You must not add to or subtract

from what I command you,

so that you may keep

the commandments of the LORD your God

that I am giving you.

(Deuteronomy 4:2)

The Key of Knowledge

About the Key of Knowledge - Luke 11:52 - Matthew 23

Jesus admonishes the religious leaders (Pharisees and scribes) of His time. He told them that not only did they not use the knowledge they had, but they took ‘the Key of Knowledge’ away from those who enquired about the Kingdom of Heaven and wanted to enter.

Remember the prohibition of adding to and subtracting from God’s Holy Word?

The Key of Knowledge

‘Woe to you experts in the law!

For you took away the Key of Knowledge

You didn’t enter in yourselves,

and those who were entering in,

you hindered.’

(Luke 11:52)
