The Oakenshield Gauntlets were designed for the first YarniTea club of 2017. Drawing inspiration from Thorin Oakensheild’s character in The Hobbit movie trilogy, with patterning of his armour and the gauntlets he wears.

Yarn:
A bouncy/ springy Dk of 8ply construction is the most similar to the sample yarn but any Dk yarn with good stitch definition would work.
2 x 50g in contrasting colours. 100-105metres/50grams

25 sts x 26 rows over 4” 10 cm stranded stockinette

Needles & Hooks: 

US 5 (3.75 mm) and US 6 (4mm) 40’’circular needles or
US 5 (3.75mm) and US 6 (4mm) DPN’s
