Video number 5 in the Birding In Kent series covers Worth Marshes near Sandwich Bay. It was purchased by the RSPB in recent years and they have introduced many scrapes and pools and returned large areas to grazing land and reedbeds. It is becoming a very attractive site for a variety of interesting wildlife. The video gives a flavour of the area and shows some of the species found there. The reserve is not really designed for the public at the present time, but existing footpaths offer the opportunity to cover a lot of the site. Many of the commoner species can be seen here such as Sedge Warbler, Reed Bunting and Whitethroat, with a good number of scarcer visitors such as Spoonbill, Glossy Ibis (not featured), Cattle Egret and the last species added to the video was a White Stork which still remains (as of Feb 2022) on the marsh.
