Do you feel ill-equipped when working with a client who self-harms? Are you new to working with self-harm, or newly established in private practice? Do you feel out of your depth or are you referring on as soon as self-harm is disclosed in the therapy room?
This course aims to build counsellors’ confidence to work safely, ethically, and competently with clients who self-harm, while supporting clients in understanding and reducing their self-harm behaviours. It aims to provide a robust foundation for counsellors who are approached by clients—or parents/carers—seeking support around self-harm.
The course is particularly suited to counsellors who want to move beyond hesitancy and referral, and develop informed and professional responses to self-harm disclosures.
This is an affordable online CPD course that can be completed in your own time and at your own pace. It is designed to strengthen your knowledge, skills, and confidence when working with clients who self-harm, supporting ethical and effective practice in this area.
