Kindergarten Elements of Art Projects Art Lessons Kindergarten Art Activities
This Kindergarten Elements of Art Complete Lesson Unit introduces your youngest artists to the building blocks of art through a playful Animals theme. It is a ready-to-teach visual arts unit that supports creativity, fine motor skills and confidence in art-making, even if you are brand new to teaching art.
With an age-appropriate introduction video, 7 guided step-by-step art projects and 7 choice-based art lessons, Kindergarten students explore line, shape, color, texture, value, form and space through animal artworks. It works for classroom teachers and homeschool families.
WHAT TEACHERS ARE SAYING
★★★★ “In some bizarre scheduling three years ago, this high school English language arts teacher found herself assigned to teach art to kindergarten students -- a subject and an age group I have no background with. This resource helped make my job much easier. (Fortunately, I have not had to teach kindergarten art again, but I have the resource should I ever need it!) Thank you for this lifesaver!” Lauranna C.

HOW TO USE IT
Review the unit plan for the teaching sequence, then start with the introductory lessons and video. Print a master copy and organize it in a binder or tub, photocopy student pages as needed, and pick a lesson to teach. Each lesson plan tells you how to teach it, from the hook to the conclusion.
Use the choice-based lessons before a tutorial lesson so students can play and practice, or after it to reinforce what they learned. Choice gives young students more ownership, effort and engagement, and lets them grow at their own pace.
