Book One: The Truth Beyond the Sky
Twelve years after his famous mother vanished, Zahn stumbles on an alien artifact that changes his life. When a figure in a shimmering uniform appears outside his window, he learns his discovery is tied to a galactic war against the Vakragha, an ancient species that devours entire stars. Their only weakness is the Tulari, a mythical stone lost for eons that can heal the wounds they cut into space.
Joined by Asha, a sharp-witted technician with secrets of her own, Zahn races to recover the stone before the Vakragha consume his world.

About this recording
These audiobooks were produced using carefully tuned open-source voice technology, and I edited the entire project myself, chapter by chapter. They are not studio recordings with a hired performer, and I would rather tell you that plainly than have you wonder.
What they are is the complete, unabridged text, clearly read, with the pacing shaped by the person who wrote it. The narrator’s name is Vayuna, and her diction holds up at speed better than most. I listen at 1.3x myself, sometimes faster. By the last pass, I stopped checking for errors and just listened.
Which brings me to the part I enjoy. In the story, Vayuna also goes by the name Vati, and somehow she got hold of these stories and is releasing them to the whole galaxy. If you know her, you know she has more than one reason to want them told.

Book Two: The Island on the Edge of Forever
Asha accepts a mission to recover a stone that can raise the dead, and is pulled into a world of ghostly ruins, cave-dwelling vermin, and a mysterious island that burns with bonfires each night, only to vanish by morning.
Separated from Commander Mira, she must survive the island and reach the stone before the Vakragha resurrect their most dangerous leader. Meanwhile Zahn descends into a subterranean labyrinth that may hold the key to stopping them, but only if Asha succeeds.
