Over the Universe Cowl

DESCRIPTION

Over the Universe Cowl is an asymmetric cowl that is worked horizontally starting at the longest edge and gradually decreases into a triangular shape then binds off together with the cast on edge.  The honeycomb brioche stitch with stripey fade, creates a lovely, plush texture that will keep you warm and toasty in the cooler weather.  
This pattern comes in one size and uses 3 colors in a DK weight yarn with video tutorials for easy to follow instructions for its unique body stitch.
This design was created with collaboration with Madeline Tosh hand-dyed yarn company.

YARN

This cowl is made with Madeline Tosh in their Farm Twist DK weight yarn (100% Superwash merino, 2 ply; 225y / 205m per 100g), using 1 skein each in the following colors;
Main Color (MC) in colorway Thunderstorm.
Contrast Color 1 (CC1) in colorway Cotton Candy Daydreams.
Contrast Color 2 (CC2) in colorway Eleven Lite

You can also use any DK weight yarn in the following yardage/meterage;
Main Color (MC) (darkest color): 209y / 191m. 
Contrast Color 1 (CC1) (multi rainbow color): 95y / 87m.
Contrast Color 2 (CC2) (lightest color): 81y / 74m.

Finished Measurements: 
Approx. 25" / 64 cm wide x 20" / 51 cm deep

Gauge:
16 sts and 50 rows for 4” / 10cm in Honeycomb st pattern knit flat after blocking.

Needle:
US 6 (4mm) needle
(Use needle size necessary to obtain gauge)

Notions:
Removable stitch marker &  tapestry needle or crochet hook
