This is the first in a series of books designed to make Levantine Arabic simple and easy. In this first volume, we focus exclusively on plurals. Plurals in Arabic are notoriously difficult. Learners are typically encouraged to remember the plural form along with the singular form when memorising each new word. However, there is some method to the madness. Patterns are discernible.

In this book, we introduce a simple system of plural groups, which will help you to recognise and to remember hundreds of individual words. Memorisation — or, rather, practise — is still necessary, but familiarity with the different forms will make the process much easier. In order to help this along, we have included sample sentences placing the plurals in context.

In addition, you will find a comprehensive grammatical treatment of nouns and their occasionally eccentric agreement with adjectives. Lastly, we have included an index for ease of reference, and a helpful list of adjectives of all types, including professions (which are like adjectives in Arabic) and nationalities, alongside colours, which have their own unique grammar.
