Comparison Shopping Readiness audits a Zen Cart catalog for product data and image problems before the catalog is submitted to comparison shopping services.
The plugin is read only. It reports findings but does not alter products, images, prices, inventory, or configuration outside its own settings and scan tables.

Included audits
- Missing, duplicated, padded, spaced, or unsafe model numbers
- Missing manufacturers and available product identifier fields
- GTIN length and check digit validation when a GTIN field is available
- Missing, overly long, highly capitalized, or promotional product titles
- Missing, overly long, or promotional descriptions
- Missing, unreadable, corrupt, undersized, oversized, or mismatched image files
- Missing or zero prices
- Missing product weight for physical products
- Product records without a category assignment
Rules are reported as errors, warnings, or recommendations. The report is an audit aid and does not guarantee acceptance by Google or another comparison shopping service.
Image standards
The default minimum is 1000 pixels in both directions. This is a configurable catalog quality recommendation, not a claim that every comparison shopping service requires that exact size.
The scanner reads the image signature as well as the filename extension. A JPEG file named with a .webp extension, for example, is reported as an extension mismatch.
Scope and limitations
- Only active products are scanned.
- Content checks use the selected administration language.
- Image checks cover the assigned main product image stored in the local Zen Cart images directory.
- Promotional language checks match the editable phrase list in product titles and descriptions. An empty list disables those checks.
- Findings require review in context before catalog data is changed.
