Durrow Celtic Knots Blackwork - embroidery pattern

A counted blackwork embroidery pattern of Celtic knots.

Based on a carpet page from the Book of Durrow, a religious manuscript dating from the 7th century. A carpet page is a page without text but entirely covered with decoration. The manuscript is now housed in Trinity College, Dublin.

DESIGN DETAILS

• Stitch count: 114 x 152
• Size on 14/28 count fabric: 8.1 x 11 inches (21 x 27cm)
• Threads: DMC stranded cotton
• Technique: back stitch

Pattern file includes black and white symbol chart, symbol key and colour image of finished design for reference.
