Anxiety and panic are not enemies.

When we are not in contact with ourselves, we are no longer able to notice the signals our body sends us — fatigue, tension, overload. Anxiety and panic can then explode like a “loud alarm,” forcing us to listen to what we had been ignoring before.

This is one of the foundations of psychoeducation: truly understanding what is happening inside us, so that fear and confusion can gradually turn into awareness.

Reconnecting means regaining a sense of control.

Slowing down the breath, slowing down the mind, and finding a stable point within ourselves again. A person who knows themselves understands what calms them, what activates them, and what protects them.

This is why working with the body becomes so important: feeling, moving, and breathing consciously. Grounding — feeling the feet firmly on the ground, stabilizing posture, allowing the breath to expand — is one of the most powerful tools for reducing anxiety. The body is the first place where we can reconnect with ourselves and return to the present moment.

Reconnecting is not “just relaxation.” It is real inner work, based on awareness, listening, boundaries, needs, and personal resources. When we truly know ourselves, we can support ourselves with greater clarity and strength.
