Herbalism Often Fails at One Quiet Step
Many people try herbalism with good intentions… and walk away disappointed.
They took the herb they were told to take.
They followed a quick recommendation.
And nothing seemed to happen.
Very often, the herb wasn’t the problem.
The preparation method was.
This short course exists to teach the one foundational skill that makes herbalism actually work:
how to prepare herbs in the form your body can use.
This Course Is For You If…
- You’re curious about herbalism but feel overwhelmed by conflicting advice
- You’ve tried herbal teas or remedies before and felt unsure whether you did them “right”
- You want practical skills — not extreme detoxes or rigid protocols
- You prefer learning calmly, clearly, and at your own pace
- You want herbal knowledge that fits real life
You do not need prior herbal experience.
You do not need special equipment.
You do not need to memorize dozens of plants.
What You’ll Learn
In Herbal Teas, Infusions & Decoctions, you’ll learn:
- Why preparation method often matters more than the herb itself
- When to choose a tea, an infusion, or a decoction
- How to prepare each method correctly, step by step
- How plant parts influence preparation choices
- How to adjust strength gently and safely
- How to avoid the most common beginner mistakes
- How to keep herbalism simple, sustainable, and supportive
This course focuses on skill, not memorization.

It’s a foundation — one you can build on naturally.
How the Course Is Delivered

About the Instructor
Hi. My name is Sandy Gowland.
I’m an herbal educator focused on helping people understand how herbalism actually works — without overwhelm, fear, or unnecessary complexity.
My approach emphasizes preparation, simplicity, and thoughtful practice, so students can work with herbs confidently and safely in everyday life.
I teach herbalism as a practical skill, not a collection of rules or remedies. Rather than memorizing dozens of plants, I help students understand preparation methods, body responses, and how to make grounded choices that fit their real lives.
This course reflects the way I practice and teach: calm, clear, and focused on building understanding that lasts.
