Thelonious Monk: Round Lights (Alone in San Francisco, 1959)
Another Bb blues, with a really weird intro: was Monk trying something new? Did he knew from the start he'll play a blues?
The ending chord is one of his favorites! This strange Bb7 contains the flat 9 (Cb/B) AND the natural 9 (C), which gives chord with three chromatic notes Bb-B-C… You can also hear it on Blue Monk and Bluehawk from the same album. I've never heard him play this voicing in F or Eb, I believe it has to be a Bb chord!
