K League 2 FC Anyang recruited midfielder Lee Young-jik (33), a former member of the North Korean national soccer team.

FC Anyang officially announced the recruitment of Li Young-jik, a fourth-generation Korean-Japanese player who has played for the North Korean national team, on the 7th.

Lee Young-jik is a defensive midfielder with a strong build based on his 187 centimeter height. Not only does he show off his personal mark and gritty play, but he is also said to have strengths in attack areas as well. As he is a multiplayer who can even play at center back, Anyang's defensive line is expected to grow even thicker.

Lee Young-jik, who started his professional career with Tokushima Bortiv in 2013, moved to V-Baren Nagasaki in 2015 and played for two seasons. Since then, he has played in Japan only since his professional debut, having played in Kamatamare Sanuki, Tokyo Verdi, FC Ryukyu, and Iwate Gruya Morioka. He played in a total of 261 games in the J-League, scoring 20 goals and eight assists.

He played in all matches at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games, helping the North Korean national team win a silver medal. In 2015, he was selected for the North Korean A team and participated in the AFC Asian Cup. Four years later, he was also selected for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup, where he played an active part. He also participated in the second round of Asian qualifying matches for the 2022 Qatar World Cup. As a member of the North Korean national team, he played in a total of 23 matches and scored one goal.

"I think I will be able to adapt quickly because the team atmosphere is good and all my teammates are treating me comfortably," Lee Young-jik said. "I want to show good play so that fans can enjoy the game."

In addition, he said, "I want to show my play at the stadium by working hard every day so that I can present victory to Anyang fans," adding, "I ask for a lot of support and will repay the support."

Meanwhile, FC Anyang will play the third round of the K League 2 against Cheongju FC in Chungbuk at 2 p.m. on the 17th at Cheongju Stadium. 토토사이트
