Daily Inspection Log

This Daily Inspection Log template was designed for use on civil and infrastructure construction projects, though it adapts readily to building, industrial, and maintenance contracts. It is structured around seven sections that progress logically from project identification through to sign-off, covering every category of information that experienced contract administrators and claims consultants consider essential.

The template is built in Microsoft Excel for accessibility and portability, it requires no specialized software, can be completed on a laptop or tablet in the field, and produces a printable record suitable for filing or submission. Dropdown menus, auto-calculated fields, and a live link to The Weather Network's historical data are included to reduce manual effort and improve consistency across reporting staff.

A companion Instructions & Changes Log and Photo Evidence Register are embedded as separate tabs to maintain a running master record across the full duration of the contract, rather than requiring users to search through individual daily sheets.
