The arrangement begins with the main melody in unison across the group for rehearsal purposes. Unison melodies help beginning string players build tone, intonation and bowing skills, and reinforce ensemble confidence. Begin a performance at rehearsal marking [B] to omit the unison introduction. This chorale-like arrangement is excellent for intonation focus, so call attention to the many "high third finger" C sharps on the A string in the violin 2 and viola parts.
