Students often ask me what formulas they are expected to memorise for the GAMSAT S3. Whilst I fundamentally disagree with the requirement to rote memorise formulae, the test does seem to expect it to some degree. For the most part, the rule of thumb appears to be that if a formula has 3 or less variables that are only being multiplied or divided, it is fair game. For example, this would include formulae such as acceleration (a = v/t), force (F = ma), and concentration (C = m/V).


To aid with this, I have produced a formula sheet compiling all instances of assumed knowledge formulae from ACER resources (even if it is given elsewhere in the exam). That being said, ACER is moving away from prior knowledge as time goes on, meaning this list is likely to be a bit more comprehensive than the reality of what would show up on the test.
