Webcamoid 9.3.0 APK for Android

I use webcamoid on linux and really enjoy it. The android version (running on a pixel 9pro and android 16) has some serious problems. Worse of them is that it often shows it is recording, but the resulting video is zero length or cannot be played, (yes, all needed permissions have been granted) this is true regardless of format. Sometimes I can get it to record by open android settings, force stop the application and clear cache. But this does not consistently work.
A minor hassle - when using the app I can not get to the app settings unless the phone is first rotated into landscape layout. With the phone in portrait layout when the app starts, the settings (gear) and menu (kebab) are covered by the system notification bar and cannot be used. If I rotate to landscape they are placed below the system notification bar. If I then rotate back to portrait layout, they now appear below the system notification bar.
I wanted to love this app. But I can't recommend it until I can trust I will get a recording when it says it's recording.
