“Jamie,” his boss called after him when they met in the corridor on Monday afternoon. 

Jamie knew his boss had been stuck in meetings all day long, so there was no surprise he hadn’t seen him. Ralph had returned to work after his illness, leaving Jamie to return to his usual job at the marketing apartment. 

“I wanted to thank you. You did an amazing job on Friday. The clients were so pleased they asked for you to participate in all our future discussions.”

“They did?”

“Yes, they were so satisfied that they added a bonus for you on top of the usual fee. I have no idea what you did, but if you keep it up, you’ll be in for a promotion soon. If a hefty bonus when the deal is signed off.”

“Thank you, Sir.”

“Actually, it’s me who should thank you, Jamie. These two are not the easiest of our clients, but you seem perfect for a key account manager role. So keep up the good work, and you will get it.”

Jamie had never seen his boss smiling so broadly.

“I will, Sir. I definitely will.”

Jamie felt he had already received a bonus, no matter what his boss had said. He had received an invitation for the upcoming weekend, and he had accepted it without any hesitation. The sensible thing would be to think it over for a few days, but when two hunks had offered him a flight ticket and two nights with them at a fancy hotel, he was willing to jump in and see how it went.
