What’s included?

Word Sorting Monsters

Children read the words and sort them by sound, feeding each word card to the correct monster (ar, or, er). This hands-on activity encourages children to listen carefully for the target sound and identify it within words.

Read and Write Activities

Children look at the picture, identify the word and write it on the line provided. This gives them the opportunity to practise segmenting and spelling words containing the target sounds while developing their handwriting skills.

Name Your Monster!

Each monster has a focus sound. Children use that sound to create a silly monster name, such as Bart, Zarg, Torm, or Wurp. This activity is perfect for practising real and nonsense words, helping children apply their phonics knowledge in a fun and imaginative way.
