REAL HISTORICAL PHRASES
Five of the six sets carry a plaque with a genuine attested phrase - the original words in transliteration, the English translation, and the source it comes from:
GNOTHI SEAUTON - Know thyself - inscribed at the Temple of Apollo, Delphi
DEYR FE, DEYJA FRAENDR - Cattle die, kinsmen die - from the Havamal, Poetic Edda
IBRI ATTA - You are my friend - a line from the Epic of Gilgamesh
IN XOCHITL IN CUICATL - The flower and the song - a Nahuatl expression for poetry and art
TRI NI AS FERR DUINE - Three things that are best for a person - from the Irish triads
AN HONEST NOTE
The hieroglyphs, cuneiform, runes and glyphs drawn inside the panels are decorative - made to look like ancient writing, not to spell out real sentences. The phrases on the plaques are the real thing, given with their sources so you can look them up.
