Installment 86 of Finding the Names continues Roll 11 — New Orleans Inward Manifests, 1846–1847 (National Archives Microfilm Publication M1895, Roll 11, NAID 173892418), images 121–240: 582 people on 63 documents, transcribed name by name from the original records at the National Archives. The project now stands at 55,722 entries.

Inside: an answer owed from Installment 85 — the brig Hayne's Charleston permit counts "Two Slaves," so Vina's child, folded into her mother's line, stands counted in nobody's number, exactly as the record left her. The brig Genl Pinkney's 80 came south under Maryland term-service oaths; the brig Victorine sailed from Baltimore again with 62 under the same three shippers. On the schooner Genl Worth, the inspector found two boys — James and Charles — answering to the descriptions of the manifest's two little girls, Maria and Julia; both accounts are printed. Jacob's whole record is one inspector's certificate, and he is entered from it. And Lucy crossed from Galveston on an oath sworn under "the laws of the Republic" of Texas — weeks after Texas had stopped being one.
