About Me
Hello and welcome! I am so glad you are here! I am a work-at-home mom to my 21-year-old son, a proud Boston College student, and my 14-year-old Havanese. I love reading, tennis, teaching, learning new things, and spending time with my family.
I have been an educator for 30 years. I am NYS certified in Elementary Education (Pre-K through Grade 6) and a Reading Specialist. My experience includes being a classroom teacher, literacy coach, staff developer, and founder of a literacy center called My First Book Club.
I have an MS in Elementary Education. I have studied the teaching of reading and writing at Teachers College, Columbia University. My passion has always been literacy.
My Core Values
With 30 years of classroom experience, I have worked with readers and writers at various levels. In designing and applying literacy principles, I have witnessed the power of a socially reinforced approach to mastering reading at the elementary school level. I am committed and passionate about providing a wide range of exceptional instruction that inspires a love of reading and writing.
