About:

The Portumna Cowl is named for the town of Portumna in County Galway Ireland. I chose this name as it is the home town of a knitter/yarn dyer named Sam, who I met soon after releasing my very first design. We clicked right away and have become friends in the years since. So when I was thinking about naming this cowl after an Irish town, I knew it needed to be her hometown—Portumna.

This cowl—with both written and charted directions—has intuitive lace in the body, with alternating rest rows and just a bit of ribbing to finish it off.

It is written in one size to be knit in worsted weight yarn for a classic and wearable finished object.

The Portumna Cowl is easy enough for a confident beginner knitter but engaging enough for an advanced one.
