Print film, film texture and lens optics in one node for DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro and After Effects on Mac and Windows, by Anurag — A Video Productionz (@av_filmmakerr).

FilmLook is the texture half of the pair: grade your colour with AVF FilmGrade, then put FilmLook last for the film itself. This is the full version — no watermark.

WHAT'S IN THE DOWNLOAD

All four builds, in one purchase, covered by one licence key:

• AVF FilmLook 5.2.6 — DaVinci Resolve — Mac

• AVF FilmLook 5.2.6 — Premiere Pro & After Effects — Mac (one effect for both apps)

• AVF FilmLook 5.2.6 — DaVinci Resolve — Windows

• AVF FilmLook 5.2.6 — Premiere Pro & After Effects — Windows (one effect for both apps)

Each kit holds the plugin, two short install documents (copy and paste, or one line in Terminal on a Mac / PowerShell on Windows), the Install & User Guide PDF and the licence agreement. The Windows kits also hold a GPU check.

WHAT'S INSIDE

• Print — print stock response built from published datasheets: Kodak 2383, Fujifilm 3513, Kodak 2393 and Kodak 5386, plus Linear and Cineon Film Log, with Print White, Exposure, Contrast, Colour Density, Saturation and a Range Limiter.

• Print Tone — Exposure, Midtones, Shadows and Highlights over the print.

• Film Grain — profiles for 8, 16, 35 and 65 mm at ISO 50, 250 and 500; in Custom, Size, Resolution, per-range Shadows / Midtones / Highlights, Chroma, Film Type and Mode.

• Halation — per gauge, each also with a No Backing variant; in Custom, Threshold, Radius, Spread, Strength, Hue and Blue Compensation, with a Show Mask view.

• Bloom — gauge profiles plus Mist Filter Light and Strong; Save Lights, Detail, Saturation and a Show Mask view.

• Film Damage — Super 8, Super 16, Super 35 and 65–70 mm; Dust, Hairs and Scratches with their sizes and lengths, and a Random Amount.

• Film Breath — exposure, contrast and colour drifting as film does, per gauge.

• Gate Weave — horizontal, vertical and rotational weave with Auto Zoom, per gauge.

• Overscan — seven gate formats from Super 8 to 65 mm Anamorphic, four gate shapes, perforations, orientation, scale, offset and gate softness.

• Vignette — Exposure, Size, Feather, Aspect Ratio and Center, with a Show Mask view.

• Monitor — False Color, Show Skin and Clipping views for checking your work.

Every texture section has a Profile and an Enabled switch: pick a film gauge and go, or choose Custom to open the whole section and tune it from that profile's own values. Film Grain and Halation start on at 35 mm; Print is on with no stock chosen, so nothing changes until you pick one.

YOUR LICENCE

Your purchase comes with a licence key, emailed with your receipt. Click License at the top of AVF FilmLook's controls, paste the key and click Activate. It needs the internet once and takes a second or two.

• One licence works on 2 computers in any mix of Mac and Windows, and covers the Resolve and the Premiere / After Effects builds.

• License → Deactivate This Mac (This PC on Windows) frees a place for another computer.

• License → Manage My Macs… (Manage My PCs… on Windows) opens your licence page, where you can see your computers and remove one.

• Offline it keeps working for 60 days after its last check, then comes back by itself when the computer is online again.

REQUIREMENTS

• DaVinci Resolve 18 or later (free or Studio), or Premiere Pro / After Effects 2023 or later

• Mac: macOS 11 Big Sur or later — one build for Apple Silicon and Intel, with a Metal-capable GPU

• Windows: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), with an NVIDIA (CUDA), AMD or Intel (OpenCL) graphics card

INSTALLING

No installer in any kit, so nothing has to be allowed in System Settings or SmartScreen: your Mac simply asks for its password, and Windows asks you to click Continue.

• Mac, DaVinci Resolve: copy AVF_FilmLook.ofx.bundle into /Library/OFX/Plugins. It appears under OpenFX → AVP Tools → AVF FilmLook 5.2.6.

• Mac, Premiere Pro & After Effects: copy AVF FilmLook.plugin into /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore. It appears under Video Effects → AVP Tools.

• Windows, DaVinci Resolve: copy the AVF_FilmLook.ofx.bundle folder into C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\Plugins.

• Windows, Premiere Pro & After Effects: copy AVF FilmLook.aex into C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore.

Each kit has two short install documents — one for copy and paste (in the Finder or File Explorer), one with a single line to paste into Terminal (Mac) or PowerShell (Windows).

TESTED ON

DaVinci Resolve and Premiere Pro 2026 on macOS (Apple Silicon), real-time playback on the GPU. Not yet tested in After Effects. The Windows builds are tested on a Mac under Wine (which runs Windows programs), not yet on a Windows PC: if one doesn't run on your PC, email avfstoree@gmail.com and we'll fix it or refund you in full.
