Old Cadillac in NYC
Resilience – A Study of a Cadillac on the Streets of New York 2017
Experience the raw, unpolished soul of the city with this powerful monochrome study captured in New York City. This high-contrast photograph features a wide-angle, low-perspective view of a vintage Cadillac Fleetwood, focusing on the dramatic, sharp-edged tail fin and the weathered, damaged bodywork that tells a story of survival in the urban jungle.
The image utilizes a gritty, film-grain aesthetic to emphasize the textures of the dented metal and the historic tenement buildings lining the background street. By choosing a black-and-white palette, the photographer highlights the iconic industrial design of this American classic while grounding it in the realistic, hardworking atmosphere of the NYC cityscape. This piece is a masterful example of urban street photography, perfect for those who find beauty in the imperfect and the enduring spirit of classic American automotive history.
