Fungi Beadweaving Tutorial
A PDF TUTORIAL for my Fungi - a trio of 3D peyote stitched mushrooms, for advanced beaders in ENGLISH. This piece uses circular and tubular peyote to beadweave three shapes and sizes of mushrooms entirely in size 11 seed beads.
This substantial 52 page tutorial is fully illustrated with detailed diagrams showing thread paths etc, as well as being written out clearly (in English) with photos where appropriate. Steps and diagrams guide you in making all three options, and I've included colouring in sheets for all variations to help you with your colour choices. In addition there is a substantial section on potential variations including shape and colour changes, with photos, and a gallery section to support that and to show you some of my more complex fungi beaded sculptures, which inspired this simpler tutorial.
Finished sizes using size 11 Miyuki seed beads:
Flat (A) - 35mm tall, 45mm wide; Pointy (B) - 61mm tall, 20mm wide;Small Flat (C) - 32mm tall, 28mm wide
The tutorial will available through Etsy for you to download as a PDF as soon as possible after Etsy detects a cleared payment. PLEASE NOTE due to Etsy's teeny weeny file size limit you have to download 2 PDFs (if that really annoys you then pop over to my PayHip shop where you can purchase as a single PDF for the same price https://payhip.com/b/DfYZM).
Techniques - Circular Peyote, Tubular Peyote
Difficulty Level - Advanced - tension control is crucial (with moderate tension required in some sections, so if you can only bead tightly you won't get good results).
You will need (for the set of 3):
Top Colour 8g Size 11 Seed beads
Underside & Stalk 12g Size 11 Seed beads
You'll also need beadweaving needles, beadweaving thread (I prefer Miyuki or KO thread), scissors.
As a beader who designs and sells largely to support my own out of control bead buying habit, you may make from my tutorials to sell (in small quantities only) so you can buy lots more beads (and tutorials), but please ensure you give me full credit as designer.
Please do respect my rights as a designer and do not pass finished pieces off as your own design, teach the design, or reproduce this tutorial or the images in it in any way. Please see my FAQs for further details. Thank you!
